Fort Collins Read Aloud has been devoted to raising literacy rates in Larimer County since 1990.

We are a non-profit 501(c)3 agency established to promote activities that influence language development and school readiness in young children.  FCRA began as the result of research conducted by the National Commission of Reading (NCR).

Reading aloud (to a child) is the single most important activity for developing the knowledge required for eventual success in reading

-NCR, Becoming a Nation of Readers, 1985

Our Mission: Fort Collins Read Aloud’s mission is to encourage, educate, and empower the communities of Larimer County with the tools necessary to ensure lifetime literacy for children.

Our Vision: Fort Collins Read Aloud’s Vision is 100% literacy in Larimer County.

Over the years we have placed hundreds of amazing volunteers throughout our community.  We have also distributed thousands of books all over Larimer County, getting them into the hands of those who need them most.  Not to mention, we have conduct countess informational presentations in an effort to teach area residents of the importance of reading to children. If you would like to work with Fort Collins Read Aloud, make a donation, or schedule a presentation, please be sure to contact us.
